Kindervelt is the largest auxiliary of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center with members in Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana.  The organization is composed of neighborhood or other common interest groups and is united by a central Board of Trustees.  Membership is open to anyone who wishes to join.

The main goal of Kindervelt is to raise restricted funds for Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.  Many projects undertaken by members serve to benefit the city and have become Cincinnati Traditions. Each individual Kindervelt group "raises funds while having fun" in its own unique way. The ideas and possibilities are endless – some include golf outings, bunco parties, fashion shows and luncheons; flower and mulch sales, cooking classes, wine tastings and vendor parties.
