Fall is in full swing; it’s my favorite time of the year! Kindervelt members have hit the ground running, beginning with the September Leadership Meeting. Our groups have had their first meetings and reacquainted with their Kindervelt friends. Hopefully, some new members will pop up in every group!
Our Speakers Series (formally Member Meeting) is Wednesday, October 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Red Cross Building (2111 Dana Avenue). Our Speaker, Gail Rizzo, is a Cincinnati Children’s clinical counselor, based in the Lakota School District. She will be speaking on “Family Mental Health: Signs and Symptoms of Common Mental Health Issues.” Please try to invite a friend as it will be very informative about our mission and help explain what Kindervelt is. Hopefully, Gail can help answer some questions and explain to parents or grandparents some signs for which to be on the lookout.
The Kindervelt Halloween Party is Friday, October 25, 2019. It will be held at the Phoenix. The committee has done a fabulous job planning a spooky and entertaining evening for us. Please bring some friends to have a great time!
We also have Kindervelt Krafts coming up. This big event, open to the public, will be held November 2, at Seton High School (3901 Glenway Avenue). There will also be two additional shows at the hospital for employees and patients’ families. The Kraft Committee will be at Findlay Market in December; they will sell the leftover crafts and spread the word of Kindervelt.
I’m looking forward to a very busy and successful fall with all of you. Thank you so much for all that you do!
