Summer 2019 President’s Message

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. I can’t believe August is right around the corner. Time is flying by so quickly these days. Make sure you take time for yourself and enjoy each and every day. Smell the flowers!

Even though Kindervelt takes a “break” for the summer months, we still have some very important fundraising going on. I implore you to take some time to participate in these events. There is more information in this newsletter on how to participate in each of these events. Encourage your friends and family to support us, too.

Annual Pool & Patio Party KV #19 is coming up on August 1st. Enjoy wine and dinner by the bite while shopping for some great things from Brenda Stradley’s, “It’s in the Details,“ Mim’s Off Main & Boy-Tiki Hut.

The Western & Southern Tennis Tournament will be August 10-18. Kindervelt members, families and friends sell programs at the tournament and receive 15% back on their sales. All money made is given to the group that the volunteer belongs to. This is a really fun event, and you get to watch some fantastic tennis. You can sign up by contacting Jackie Kirkpatrick 513-502-1059 or at [email protected]

Eye on the Ohio is a new event by Kindervelt #8. They are selling tickets now for a Riverboat Cruise that will be held on October 13. It’s an interactive Child-Family Riverboat cruise. It will be a 45 minute cruise with an interactive passport to explore the Ohio River. Get your tickets early because this will sell out quickly.

Tracy Smith and her committee have been working hard on the Kindervelt Halloween party. It promises to be a night to remember! The groups should have received requests for silent auction items, gift cards, wine and other things. Please support our Citywide event.

Diana Peters and her committee are working on a new plan for the Kraft show. Check out her information in the newsletter. This year should be a lot easier for everyone andeverything will be done in one day! This is a citywide event that we hope everyone will support even if you’re not a crafter! See the information in the newsletter on how you can help.

Finally, please mark your calendars and plan to attend the Kindervelt Member meeting onOctober 16, 2019. It will be held at the Red Cross Building from 6:00 to 8:30.

I thank each and every one of you for your dedication to Kindervelt and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. It’s an honor to be your president and if you need me, I’m only a phone call away. “Together We Can Make A Difference”
