Summer 2018 – President’s Message

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital moved to #2 in the Nation. WHY? Because of people like YOU!!!

Summer is flying by as we are preparing for another fantastic year of raising funds for Kindervelt Psychiatric Emergency Assessment Center.

I want to thank you for allowing me to represent all of you as your president. Your outreach to help has been tremendous! I have received phone calls from distraught parents about their suicidal children who have been battling depression. It is not only devastating to the suffering children but to the parents and other family members as well. It’s heart wrenching! Those dealing with this crisis are so thankful for everything we are doing for the Kindervelt Emergency Assessment Center. Those phone calls motivate me to strive to do more, and I hope all of the groups will push themselves as they begin to plan their events this year. I challenge you to explore fresh ideas, add a unique project and try new things – every penny counts!

A new event this year is a partnership with EnterTRAINment Junction for their 10th Birthday! We will be receiving a portion of the ticket sales for the birthday party lasting from August 1st through August 10th, so start spreading the word! Please read the press release in this newsletter to learn about all of the great activities and giveaways they have planned. We will be manning a table on August 4th and 5th to bring awareness to Kindervelt and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital; if you can help out please go to the website and sign up.

Another great event is the Western & Southern Tennis Tournament taking place August 11th-19th. It’s a great time being involved in the

hustle and bustle of exciting tennis. Kindervelt receives a portion of all programs sold. The money raised is divided between the groups that participate, so your group will get full credit for your participation. Please go to the Kindervelt Website (www.kindervelt.org) and sign up.

Finally, do you want to find out how Cincinnati Children’s Hospital became #2 in the nation? Please mark your calendars and plan to attend our Members’ meeting on October 9th at the Red Cross Building. We will begin with a social hour at 6:00PM, at which we will be sharing some exciting news!

Thank you so much for all you do! My door is always open to you. Your dedication to Kindervelt and Cincinnati Children’s is over the top!

Together, We Can Make A Difference.

Bonnie Hueneman,
Kindervelt City President
