April 2018 – President’s Message

Happy Spring! Wow, we have a busy calendar of events for the next couple of months. To just name a few… we have fashion shows, raffles, cabarets, buncos, luncheons and golf outings. This is our final push to raise money for the 2017-18 year. I encourage you to support as many of these events as you can.

The final Member Meeting is just a little over a week away. I think you’ll be pleased with a few improvements we’ve made to the meeting format. We have gotten a great selection of food, a very exciting guest speaker, some fun door prizes, and an exciting surprise. This is all at no cost to Kindervelt. Sabin Hall is a beautiful location with an outdoor patio that I hope the weather will allow us to use. Reservations are not required, but it will help us keep an accurate count of attendees. I hope to see you there!

We also have our Annual Dinner coming up. Make sure to mark your calendars for May 16. Our dinner/meeting will be held at the Cincinnati Woman’s Club. Linda Deters is planning a really “far out” evening which will include music, dinner, hearing from the Division of Child of Adolescent Psychiatry and KV PEACe, recognition of 20, 30, 40 year members, the Barbara Fitch Award presentation, the induction of the 2018-19 Board of Trustees, the passing of the gavel to the incoming City President, Bonnie Hueneman and the presentation of the check to the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. It will surely be a “groovy” evening!

With April being National Volunteer Month, I would like to say that Kindervelt is made up of the most dedicated and caring volunteers in the tristate. I thank every one of you for all you do for Kindervelt and Cincinnati Children’s. We are changing the outcome, TOGETHER!

Tracy Smith
Kindervelt City President
